Born in Lanzarote-Canary Islands, Paco Curbelo began his studies in 1975 at the School of Fine Arts of las Palmas. Two years later he moved to Barcelona to continue his university studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts. In 1980 he finished his studies in Painting.  During these years, he also took several courses in engraving, ceramics and photography, as well as a course in Restoration of Mural Painting at the International School “Miguel Farré “.

In 1981, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Sculpture from the University of La Laguna – Tenerife. From this moment on and throughout his career, Curbelo combines his docent labor as professor of Volume at the Pancho Lasso School of Art in Lanzarote with a professional trajectory in which he reaps great successes as sculptor of Monumental Work.  His work includes more than 40 monumental pieces located in public and private spaces. He has also held numerous National and International exhibitions, and has designed and built sculptures for several awards and trophies, such as the International Sailing Regatta “Trofeo César Manrique”.

His creations, made mostly of basalt stone, marble, granite, iron and onyx, speak of simplicity and feelings, and are a tribute to movement and space.
